A Little About LSE

Founded in 1895 by Beatrice and Sidney Webb, alongside Graham Wallas and George Bernard Shaw, the London School of Economics and Political Science was born out of a visionary breakfast meeting on 4 August 1894. Funded initially by a £20,000 bequest from the estate of Henry Hunt Hutchinson, LSE opened its first classes in rooms near the Strand in Westminster.
