Whether it is a portrait with friends, family, or academic staff, this frame presents your memory with the elegance it deserves. The overall frame dimensions are 293mm x 340mm, making it a substantial and striking piece to display in any home or office.

Frame and Mount Materials

The frame is constructed from a high-quality moulding and glazed with anti-glare styrene, which reduces the damaging effects of UV light to help protect your photograph over time. The mount is produced from acid-free mount card, essential for archival preservation — it will not yellow or degrade, ensuring your photograph remains as vibrant as the day it was taken. The University of Salford name is elegantly printed on the mount using foil printing, adding a refined, celebratory finish that makes this far more than an ordinary photo frame.

The mount colour has been carefully selected to complement the University of Salford’s colours, ensuring a cohesive and distinguished look that honours the institution.

Your Choice of Frame

This frame is available in a choice of three moulding styles, allowing you to find the perfect match for your home décor or personal taste:

• Black and Gold — a classic, timeless combination that suits both traditional and contemporary interiors

• Teak and Gold — a warm, rich finish that brings a sense of distinction and heritage

• Contemporary — a clean, modern style ideal for sleek, minimal spaces

A Perfect Companion and Gift Idea

This photo frame makes a fantastic addition to a matching framed University of Salford graduation certificate, creating a cohesive and impressive display. It also makes a wonderful gift — whether you are treating yourself, giving it to your parents or wider family to mark your achievement, or perhaps for other family members to gift to the graduate to sit alongside their matching framed certificate.

A University Rooted in History

The University of Salford carries a proud and fascinating history stretching back to the heart of the Industrial Revolution. Its origins lie in the Pendleton Mechanics’ Institute, founded in 1850, and the Salford Working Men’s College, founded in 1858 — both established to equip a growing industrial workforce with the skills of the future. These institutions merged in 1896 to form the Royal Technical Institute, whose opening was attended by the Duke and Duchess of York — later King George V and Queen Mary — a connection that earned the institute its prestigious ‘Royal’ title. The university received its Royal Charter on 10 February 1967, when Queen Elizabeth II formally conferred university status. Its motto, Altiora Petamus — “Let us seek higher things” — remains as fitting today as ever. The university’s alumni include celebrated names such as actor Sir Ben Kingsley and comedian Peter Kay, alongside musicians who helped define the Manchester sound.
