Proudly display the qualification that marks your standing as a professional in one of the world’s most respected engineering disciplines. This hand-crafted certificate frame has been specifically designed to present your Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) certificate with the distinction it deserves — whether displayed in your office, studio, or home.
Crafted to Last
Each frame is hand-made to the highest standard, constructed from quality mouldings and fitted with anti-glare styrene that reduces the damaging effects of UV light, helping to protect your certificate from daylight discolouration over time. The removable backboard allows for straightforward insertion and removal of your certificate, making the frame as practical as it is elegant.
Foil-Printed Mount
At the heart of the frame sits an acid-free mount card, chosen for its archival quality — it will not yellow or degrade over time, making it an essential component for the long-term preservation of your certificate. The mount features foil-printed text bearing the name of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, adding a refined, professional finish that elevates the overall presentation. The mount colour has been carefully selected to complement the Institution’s own colours, ensuring a cohesive and distinguished appearance.
Your Choice of Frame
This certificate frame is available in three moulding styles, allowing you to choose the finish that best suits your setting:

-

-
Contemporary — a clean, understated style for a modern aesthetic
A Proud Institution with a Remarkable Heritage
The Royal Institution of Naval Architects was founded on 16 January 1860, when a group of pioneering engineers and shipbuilders gathered in London with the purpose of advancing the art and science of naval architecture. Among its founding figures were John Scott Russell, the builder of the Great Eastern — at the time the largest ship ever constructed — alongside Edward Reed, who would go on to become Chief Constructor for the Royal Navy, and Nathaniel Barnaby, who was involved in the design of HMS Warrior, Britain’s first ironclad warship. The Institution received its Royal Charter in 1910, cementing its status as the global governing body for naval architecture and maritime engineering. An early contributor to the society was William Froude, a protégé of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, whose pioneering work on ship hydrodynamics was presented at the Institution’s second session in 1861, and who went on to establish the world’s first ship model test tank in 1872. Today, RINA represents members across more than 140 countries, upholding its founding motto: “Salum Et Carinae Pignora Vitae” — “To the high seas and keel of a ship we pledge our lives”.
