Display Your Achievement with Pride
Earning your Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) qualification represents years of dedicated study, rigorous professional assessment, and a genuine commitment to shaping the built environment. This handcrafted certificate frame has been specifically designed to present your RTPI certificate in a manner that reflects the significance of that achievement — whether displayed in a professional office, a consulting room, or at home.
Crafted to the Highest Standard
Each frame is individually handmade to the highest standard of quality. The certificate is set behind anti-glare styrene, which reduces the damaging effects of UV light whilst ensuring clear, glare-free viewing from all angles. The mount card used is fully acid-free and archival quality, essential for the long-term preservation of your certificate — it will not yellow or degrade over time. A removable backboard makes insertion straightforward, and the frame is suitable for all certificates issued by the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Your Choice of Frame
Three moulding styles are available, allowing you to select the finish that best suits your surroundings and personal taste:
-
Black and Gold — a classic, authoritative combination that presents beautifully in any professional environment
-
Teak and Gold — a warm, traditional finish with timeless appeal, ideal for more traditional office or home settings
-
Contemporary — a clean, modern style suited to contemporary workspaces and minimalist interiors
The Mount
The mount has been carefully selected in a colour chosen specifically to complement the Royal Town Planning Institute’s own colours, ensuring that the overall presentation feels cohesive and befitting of the qualification it displays. The institution’s name is foil-printed onto the mount card, adding an elegant, professional finishing touch that sets this frame apart from any standard off-the-shelf alternative.
A Profession Rooted in History
The Royal Town Planning Institute has been shaping the way Britain grows, develops, and plans its communities for well over a century. The term “town planning” itself only entered common usage in the UK in 1906, and by 1914 — following the landmark Housing, Town Planning, etc. Act — the Town Planning Institute was formally founded at a dinner on 30 January of that year, with Thomas Adams elected as its first President. In 1970, a supplemental Royal Charter was granted and the Institute was elevated to the Royal Town Planning Institute, a name that reflects its standing as the foremost professional body for planners across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Today, the RTPI represents over 27,000 members in 88 countries, accrediting world-class planning courses and upholding rigorous professional standards that protect communities and environments for generations to come.
