Frame and Mount Details
The frame measures 293mm x 340mm overall, housing your 10 x 8 inch photograph behind anti-glare styrene, which reduces the damaging effects of UV light to help preserve your photograph over time. The mount is precision-cut and features the University of Reading name, hot foil printed in-house — a refined finishing touch that makes the piece instantly recognisable as a University of Reading keepsake. The mount card is acid-free and archival quality, meaning it won’t yellow or degrade over time, ensuring your photograph is protected for the long term.
The mount colour has been carefully selected to complement the University of Reading’s colours, creating a cohesive and distinguished presentation.

A University with a Remarkable History
The University of Reading has a proud and distinctive heritage. Founded in 1892 as a University Extension College of Christ Church, Oxford, it received its Royal Charter from King George V in 1926 — making it the only university in the United Kingdom to be granted a charter between the two World Wars. The university owes much of its early development to the generosity of the Palmer family, of Huntley & Palmers biscuit fame, who donated the London Road campus site in the early 1900s. Among its celebrated alumni is Andy Mackay, saxophonist and founding member of Roxy Music, who studied English and Music at Reading and was recognised with the University’s Distinguished Graduate award. The town of Reading itself has a rich cultural legacy — it was home to Jane Austen, who attended the Abbey House school there as a child, and boasts connections to figures as varied as Ricky Gervais and Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell.
