The overall frame dimensions are 293mm x 340mm, making it an elegant and appropriately sized piece to display on any wall or shelf.

Frame and Mount Materials

The frame is constructed to a high standard, combining quality moulding with a precision-cut mount that presents your photograph in the best possible light. The mount features foil-printed text bearing the University of Strathclyde name, adding a distinguished, personalised finishing touch that is entirely in keeping with the prestige of the occasion. The foil printing is applied to acid-free mount card, which is essential for archival preservation — ensuring your mount will not yellow or degrade over time.

The frame is glazed with anti-glare styrene, which reduces the damaging effects of UV light whilst providing a clear, crisp view of your photograph. The mount colour has been carefully selected to complement the University of Strathclyde’s colours, ensuring a cohesive and polished presentation.

Your Choice of Frame

This frame is available in a choice of moulding styles to suit your taste and décor:

• Black and Gold — a timeless, classic combination that lends a formal and prestigious feel

• Teak and Gold — warm, rich tones that bring a traditional elegance to any room

• Contemporary — a clean, modern style for those who prefer a sleeker aesthetic

Each moulding style is finished to the same exacting standard, ensuring your chosen frame is worthy of the milestone it commemorates.

A University with a Remarkable Heritage

The University of Strathclyde has a history as distinguished as the degrees it awards. Founded in 1796 as the Andersonian Institute — established through the will of Glasgow scientist Professor John Anderson, who envisioned a place of “useful learning” open to all — it grew to become the United Kingdom’s first technological university, receiving its Royal Charter in 1964. Taking its name from the ancient Kingdom of Strathclyde, it is today one of Scotland’s largest universities, attracting students and staff from over 100 countries. Its John Anderson Campus sits at the very heart of Glasgow, nestled between Queen Street Station and the historic Glasgow Cathedral — a fitting home for an institution that has shaped generations of thinkers, scientists, engineers, and leaders.
